Sleeping Beauties

Children with intellectual disabilities often have trouble falling asleep and often have trouble staying asleep due to restlessness and the inability to settle. A proven and effective aid for these children to sleep well and be less tired during the day, is a weighted blanket. Specially designed washable ‘blankets’ with weighted pellets sewn into the lining are proven to enable these children to sleep and rest for longer periods of time than any other non-medicated solution. As good as they are, the blankets can cost up to $200 per child which is often too expensive for families who already have higher than usual expenses. Thanks to your support of the annual Holeseekers Charity Golf Day, funds were raised to enable almost sixty families to receive a donated weighted blanket specially designed for their child/children.
